We finally got approval on a new OgilvyInteractive logo I designed. We own the domain www.oi.co.za and are quite often referred to as OI, so I used this as my motivation behind the new design.

This year, Im turning 34. Please dont give me any more winnie-the-pooh bedroom slippers or ice cube trays. I have pretty much everything I could want or need. Shockingly, 1.1 billion people on the planet right now dont have clean water to drink and 4,500 children will die today because of bad water. So instead of gifts for my birthday this year, Im asking for donations to help build a freshwater well in Ethiopia. 100% of all the money raised will directly fund clean water projects. Please help me support this great cause

One Year Later

One year ago to the day, I launched the current version of my site as part of the 2008 May 1st Reboot. During this year I have received a great deal of recognition for my efforts, including being chosen as a winner of the May 1st Reboot and also winning the 2008 Pixel Awards in the personal category. I have considered a re-design, but have rather been focussed on a re-align of content as I'm quite happy with the current sites structure.

There have been a few re-alignments to this site. Most notibly my portfolio has had a make-over. After watching less web savvy people using my site, I noticed there was a bit of confucion on how to navigate the portfolio section. So I have now added thumbnails at the lower section of the site for easy navigating through the pages. Other additions include new footer icons, comments and a new scroll-bar.

We're Moving

When we decided to move back to Joburg at the end of 2007 the last thing we would have imagined is that we would have a son, I'd leave Aqua Online after only a short few months to self employed again and that I'd start a poker business. But here we are a year later and we just cannot fit our current lifestyle in this 2 bedroom apartment. so we are moving a short distamce away into a 3 bedroom cluster unit, free of noisy neighbours, with plenty of room for Dexter, a home office for Digiguru and storage space for poker equipment. So on the 10th December our stuff will be collected and we will move into our new home not too far in Craigavon.

On Monday I was pleasantly suprised to receive a parcel from the Pixel Awards which had a few prizes I won by winning the Personal category in the 2008 Pixel Awards. I got a great T-Shirt, some stickers, a 2 gig iPod Shuffle and my first physical award. I cannot wait to move into our new residence sp I can hang my award proudly on my new office wall.

Fi released kontain in alpha phase today and Digiguru gave there new application a whirl. Does the web need another social platform, probably not, but if the functionality and ease of use are anything to go by, even the very biggest media platforms have got alot of catching up to do. kontain looks good, feels good and even in it's simplist form is to date the nicest online application I have ever used.
